Compatible hardware

Bouk Cashier runs in the browser, so it is not tied to one device or brand. Use your existing devices if they are compatible, or contact us and we will help you source them through partners.

  • Supported
  • Recommended
  • Needs testing on your device
  • iPad and tablets

    Supported
    • An iPad on iPadOS 16.4 or later with Safari, or an Android tablet with an up-to-date Chrome.
    • A 10-inch screen or larger is recommended for the cashier screen.
    • Install it as an app with “Add to Home Screen”; selling continues when the internet drops.
    • Receipts print from the tablet through browser printing to a printer the device supports (such as AirPrint).
    • Opening the cash drawer automatically from a tablet is not available yet; open it with its key or through the printer settings if supported.
  • Windows touch terminals (All-in-One)

    Recommended
    • Windows 10 or 11 with the latest Chrome or Edge.
    • At least 4GB of memory (8GB recommended) and a touch screen of about 15 inches.
    • It can run the “device agent” for direct printing and opening the drawer — we enable it with you after testing your printer.
  • 80mm thermal receipt printer

    Needs testing on your device
    • 80mm paper width.
    • Browser printing works with any printer installed in the device operating system.
    • Faster direct printing: an ESC/POS network printer (port 9100) through the device agent on the cashier machine.
    • Arabic character support varies between models, so we test your printer model before approving it.
  • Cash drawer

    Needs testing on your device
    • A drawer with an RJ11/RJ12 port connected to the receipt printer, opened by a pulse from it.
    • Opening after a cash sale is optional in settings and never blocks the sale if the printer or drawer is unavailable.
    • Every drawer opening is recorded in the audit log and requires its own permission.
  • Barcode scanner

    Supported
    • Any USB or Bluetooth scanner working in keyboard (HID) mode.
    • It reads the barcode saved on the product and adds the item to the cart directly.
  • Network and internet

    Supported
    • A stable internet connection (fibre or 4G/5G). When it drops, selling continues and operations sync when it returns.
    • Some actions need a connection: voids, refunds, reports and settings.
    • A local network (router) links the cashier machine to the printer for direct printing; a fixed IP address for the printer is preferred.
  • Kitchen and customer screens

    Supported
    • Any tablet or screen with an up-to-date browser, as included in your plan.
